RIGGING TD
JOB DESCRIPTION
Daywalker Studios is looking for experienced Rigging Technical Directors who are proficient in Maya and preferably have experience in rigging characters with the mGear framework.
Responsibilities
- Create fully scripted rigs for a variety of humanoids, creatures, vehicle and props
- Prototype, implement and refine puppet (skeleton), cloth (deformer based) or mechanical rigs
- Troubleshoot and fix rig issues, collect artistic feedback and fine tune rig behaviour
- Must be able to work interactively with modelers and animation director to resolve challenges
- Create simple tools to help animation workflow and rig interaction
- Meet delivery deadlines under production constraints
Requirements
Essential Skills
- Maya rigging (full body/facial)
- Strong knowledge of character kinematics, deformations, and topology
- Strong secondary abilities in all aspects of the asset pipeline
- Advanced Python scripting
- Experience with full scripted modular/functional rigging
- The ability to write technical documentation and present your work (wiki, screen cap etc.)
- Analytical and artistic skills, creativity and visual problem solving
- Team work, communication and time management skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience with the mGear framework
- Maya API, C++ skills
